At Iris van Herpen we are looking for an enthusiastic and highly organized Collection Coordinator. This is a full-time position based in Amsterdam.

The activities are:
Working closely together with design, atelier, sales, and PR teams to ensure timely and efficient processes are in place to deliver Couture dresses of the highest quality for clients, runway shows, and VIP dressings in time. Planning and coordinating the activities of the atelier. Hiring and guiding junior team members and apprentices. Managing a team of 25-30 employees, freelancers, and apprentices. 
  
The ideal candidate:
-    Previous experience in a similar role 
-    A degree in fashion, textiles
-    Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills and the ability to manage a team under time pressure
-    Experience in high-end fashion  
-    Ability to inspire and motivate a large and diverse team 
-    Large sense of responsibility and takes ownership of the entire process
-    Advanced knowledge of all facets of the Couture process; patterns, illustrator files, sewing 
-    Natural eye for detail, finish, fit
-    Perfectionist character
-    Available full-time and flexible in working hours in busy periods
-    Pro-active planner and sparring partner for senior management 
-    Budget responsibility and negotiating skills 
-    Excellent written and spoken English including the industry jargon

• Making creative and traditional/tailored patterns 
• Attending fittings and translation to patterns
• Using Adobe Illustrator for pattern making
• Performing refined high-quality sewing machine-stitching of delicate (silk) fabrics in complex designs
• Sewing machine stitching mainly, handwork on the side
• Coaching of the team
 

The ideal candidate:
• Minimum of three years seamstress work experience within a Couture (or bridal atelier)  
• Excellent pattern making skills
• Experience with drawing and and work with Adobe Illustrator is desired
• Experience with made to measure fitting and a good eye to achieve the perfect fit for each client
• Excellent stitching quality - hand and machine
• Pattern knowledge
• Fluent in English
• Perfectionism and a good eye for detail & constant quality control

The activities are:
Working closely together with the atelier team to develop embellishments such as embroidery and fabric manipulations. Communicating with fabric suppliers and choosing colours and materials with the design team. Guiding the team in textile related processes in terms of quality, efficiency and aesthetic. 
 
The ideal candidate:
-    A degree in fashion, textiles, or another relevant related direction
-    Understanding of high end embellishment materials, and techniques.
-    Excellent knowledge of fabric compositions, behaviour and applications
-    A good understanding of garment construction
-    Excellent handwork skills
-    Advanced Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator skills are an advantage
-    A natural feel for organization, time-management and managing a team under time pressure.

Internships at Iris van Herpen

Internships at Iris van Herpen are offered for a minimum duration of 4 months. A European passport is required, unless you are studying at a Dutch university. Due to the many applications a response can take up to 6 weeks. Please wait for the reply and send your application far enough in advance. Atelier internship

Working closely together with the atelier where the collections are being developed and restored. This involves many different kinds of handwork, patternmaking, machine sewing, sourcing, graphic design and more and for some, a chance to join and help behind the scenes at Paris Fashion Week.

Requirements:

Working closely together with the atelier team on technical files for lasercutting, garment construction and development of fabric manipulation that requires computer vector and 3D visualization.

Requirements:

-    A degree or studying for a degree in architecture, industrial design, product design, graphic design and/or in fashion with a focus on construction.
-    Command of the industry jargon in English
-    Excellent logical, constructive and spatial aware way of thinking
-    Patient, innovative, curious and hands on mindset
-    Educated and experienced construction field
-    Basic knowledge of pattern making is an advantage
-    Time management skills as well as being able to work under time pressure
-    Advanced knowledge of Adobe Illustrator
-    Knowledge of 3D progams is an advantage
