News | Sculpting the (Un)Spoken: A Participatory Performance with Iris van Herpen
During Sculpting the (Un)Spoken, Iris van Herpen engaged directly with visitors through a series of live, participatory performances within the exhibition space.
Seated among her work, Van Herpen invited participants into moments of conversation and meditative handcraft, collaboratively shaping a new garment in real time. Through the intimate act of pleating fabric by hand, each contribution subtly influenced the evolving texture of the piece, reflecting a shared process of creation. Fragments of these exchanges were later embroidered into the interior of the final design, transforming the garment into a living archive of collective memory and dialogue.
